Growing up you may have seen SOSUPERSAM dancing for your favorite R&B/Pop singers. This LA native has reinvented herself as a popular international DJ and “143”  R&B party host. Following her 2016 release of Garden Samantha Duenas allows her sultry vocals to shine on 3-track EP Priority.

Intoxicating opener “Drip” places Sam as the woman of the hour. Nick Pacoli’s boomy bass and trickling synths create a trembling production. Her tender vocals cultivates space for euphoric comfort. Listeners soon learn of a misty rendezvous where moist imagery meets stridulating crickets. “Good For It” is an intense yet provocative take on love. Sam reminds us that her prize-like confidence deserves all the attention. With seamless transition,  “Priority” shines as a crackling g-funk mid-tempo ballad of belonging. Duenas’ vocals are blunt and sentimental echoing 2000’s R&B vibes of betrayal.

Sam’s project brings together multidimensional production with silky vocals to attest to love’s unforgiving stages. Priority unpacks relationships in three separate boxes of heat, intensity and the harsh truth. For a 3-track EP, its an easy, lyrically engaging listen.
