Nonso Amadi is a 23-year-old Canada-based singer, self-taught songwriter, and producer who has been crafting a lane in Afro-R&B since 2015. He explored music while studying Chemical Engineering in college.
Amadi’s creative influences and inspirations include Bryson Tiller, Drake, WizKid, Wande Coal, Fela Kuti, and Jon Bellion, to name a few. His lyrics are often influenced by personal experiences and emotional intensity.
Today, the Lagos-Toronto transplant debuts “Emergency” as his first independent single of the year.
Nonso blends his mellow, warm vocals with an energetic highlife production. The 23-year-old paints a vivid, no-regrets run in with love. He delightfully sings:
“Only here till the sunriseSay she gotta go a long timeI’ll remember the fun times‘Cause you and me hit it one timeAll we have is this one life andCall me back when you’re online
Despite being the man of the hour, Amadi encourages us to love hard during times of uncertainty and limited interaction. “Emergency” highlights the potency of love’s intoxicating yet excruciating effects.
2019 will be a strong year for Nonso and Afro-R&B.
